This special issue invites contributions that consider literature as a catalyst for social justice, broadly conceived. We welcome papers and book reviews in Portuguese, English, Spanish, or French, engaging with topics such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Literature and human rights<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Narratives of migration, displacement, and asylum<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Gender, sexuality, and intersectionality in literary texts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Ecocriticism, postcolonial studies, and environmental justice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Literature, carcerality, protest, and abolitionist thought<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Pedagogical approaches to teaching literature and social justice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Submissions are open until March 31, 2026.<br>The issue will be published in September 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">For more information and submission guidelines, please visit:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.e-publicacoes.uerj.br\/index.php\/matraga\/announcement\/view\/1660\">Matraga \u2013 Call for Papers<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019m delighted to share that I will be co-editing a special issue of Matraga on Literature and Social Justice, alongside Akanksha Mehta (Goldsmiths, University of London).
